WHAT IS LINKEDIN?

LinkedIn is known as the world’s largest professional networking platform. LinkedIn is the top online site for professional, social, and career networking. The site functions as an online directory of the individual professionals and the organizations and also facilitates the process of professional networking without having to leave the office. As of 2020, LinkedIn had more than 660 million members in more than 200 countries including the executives from all of the Fortune 500 companies. The individuals use LinkedIn for professional networking, connecting, and job searching, and companies use it for recruiting and also for sharing company information with prospective employees.

WHY SHOULD WE USE LINKEDIN?

Here the question comes why to use LinkedIn? The answer to this question is Because LinkedIn offers useful resources for job seekers, providing information, and acting as a billboard to highlight unique value proposition and making your information to the public for recruiters who may be looking for what you have to offer.

For a professional purpose their should be a proper profile photo which makes a good impression to any one who views your profile. The profile photo should be in professional form rather than a casuals. And don’t necessarily have to shell out the big bucks for a head shot but care should be taken when choosing the right clothes, background, lighting, and etc for your LinkedIn profile picture.

WRITE A GOOD PROFILE SUMMARY

LinkedIn profile summary is a chance to put best your foot forward, especially if you interested in new job opportunities. LinkedIn has a character limit for this section. The company recommends writing 3 to 5 short paragraphs and leaving plenty of white space so readers’ eyes don’t glaze over when they land on your page. One should don’t be afraid to inject some of your personality into profile summary to make it memorable but steer clear of anything that seems too unprofessional or could be controversial. Finally, one should make sure of  proofread this section carefully, as you would a cover letter for a job application. And the Typos and sloppy writing will send the wrong signal.

In addition to a summary your LinkedIn profile can contain of work experience, education, skills, and endorsements and recommendations from others in your network. Profile helps to get found on LinkedIn because it contains searchable keywords in the information post.
